Jose Duarte Does Infographics In Real Life

Filed under: In Real Life, Art / Design

The average person comes across 200 infographics a day. Just kidding – that’s not a real statistic, but the point is that these bite-sized nuggets of pretty knowledge are everywhere. Whether discussing the history of rickrolling or just trying to figure out itself (how meta!) you can pretty much find an infographic on every website. It’s pretty exhausting.

So, we were thrilled to find Colombian photographer Jose Duarte’s real-life infographics, a portfolio of photos of in-real-life items documenting internet stats. Not only are these photos button cute but they’re actually filled with some great info. There are 32 million internet users in China, you say? Lady Gaga trumps President Obama, Newsweek and Al Gore in Twitter followers? Well, huh. The more you know.

Insane Ian Parodies Bruno Mars’ ‘Grenade’ with ‘Bob-Omb’ Video

Filed under: Humor, Videos, Music, Gaming

two girls one up insane ian as mario in bob-omb videoIt’s a great week for musical parody! First, Weird Al posted his new Lady Gaga parody, and now Insane Ian — a geeky gamer answer to Weird Al — has put out a new Mario-themed video. Ian’s song ‘Bob-Omb’ is a Nintendo-fied spoof of Bruno Mars’ ‘Grenade,’ starring Ian as Mario.

You may remember Ian’s video budget woes from our post about his Kickstarter campaign. Well, good news: the Grand Theft Audio album and videos are now fully funded! The ‘Bob-Omb’ vid was filmed with zero budget, and I think you’ll agree it’s quite an impressive play on Bruno Mars’ vid.

Keep on geekin’ on, Insane Ian! Can’t wait to see the finished version of DiG DuG!

Hear The Weird Al ‘Born This Way’ Parody That Lady Gaga Shut Down

Filed under: Videos, News / Politics, Music

weird al lady gaga born this way parody fightWeird Al has been the top name in musical parodies for 30 years, and it’s well-known that he always asks artists for their blessing before spoofing them on his albums. Well, Lady Gaga just said no.

On his blog, Weird Al describes the unprecedented hoops he jumped through to get Gaga’s approval for a “Born This Way” parody, including actually recording the finished song so she could hear it (a Weird Al first). After all that, Gaga nixed the track, called “Perform This Way.”

Well, Al has posted his song on YouTube, because he doesn’t want the recording to be a total waste. As you can hear for yourself, the track pokes fun at Gaga’s crazy fashions and bigger-than-life image in typical Weird Al style. There’s nothing too harsh here, and Al even planned to donate proceeds from the song to the Human Rights Campaign in honor of the positive message of Gaga’s original song. Still not good enough for Lady Gaga, though. This is a new world record for how seriously one person who has worn an egg dress in public can take herself.

The Top 10 Most Hated YouTube Videos – Rebecca Black Just Became Number One

justin bieber and rebecca black have the most disliked videos on youtubeYesterday, Justin Bieber’s most impressive YouTube record was finally broken. No, it wasn’t the most-viewed video crown (although his “Baby” holds that honor with 500 million views and counting) … it was the record for most-disliked video. “Baby” has 1.15 million dislikes, but Rebecca Black’s nauseous party anthem “Friday” has 1.16 million, making her YouTube’s new most-hated star.

We’ve rounded up the rest of top (or should I say bottom?) 10 most-disliked videos on YouTube below, and the results might surprise you. Aside from “Baby” and “Friday,” every video on the list has many more thumbs up than thumbs down.

So many of these are Bieber videos, though, that Rebecca Black will have to put out a whole album if she ever hopes to top the world’s favorite mop-topped pop muppet in overall dislikes. Aim for the stars (er, I guess I mean the gutter), Rebecca!

10) Evolution of Dance – 63,000 dislikes

9) Chocolate Rain by TayZonday – 70,000 dislikes

8) Charlie Bit My Finger, Again! – 73,500 dislikes

7) Never Let You Go by Justin Bieber – 74,000 dislikes

6) One Less Lonely Girl by Justin Bieber – 77,500 dislikes 5) Bad Romance by Lady Gaga – 82,500 dislikes

Disappointing Gay Best Friend Doesn’t Disappoint

disappointing gay best friend Listen up, gay men! If you think that your heterosexual female BFF sticks around because you’re an interesting individual whose presence is genuinely enjoyed, you’re wrong! Dead wrong! Everyone knows that the sole function of a homosexual male is to feed the angry beast that is a single woman’s ego at all times. Otherwise? You’re just a huge disappointment.

The new web series “Disappointing Gay Best Friend” starring Mikala Bierma and Tyler Coates shows exactly what kind of trauma a fruit fly can experience when her gay BFF isn’t quick to remind her that she’s fabulous. Our favorite? The episode where Mikala tries in vain to get Tyler to say that he wants Lady Gaga to “do” her. As in, you know, “Do you, girl!”

Timmy Covers Lady Gaga’s ‘Born This Way’

timmy kid sings lady gaga born this wayTimmy, the somewhat chubby young fellow who’s become a huge YouTube sensation for his covers of pop songs by Katy Perry and Ke$ ha, has hit it big again with his a cappella version of Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way.” With a banana for a microphone and a kitchen for his stage, Timmy capably belts out Gaga’s latest anthem with ample charm.

With all the lipsyncing and autotuning on YouTube these days, it’s cool to see a kid with the confidence to put his natural voice out there for the internet to see. Baby, he was born this way!

Lady Gaga Fan Sings with Gaga Onstage After YouTube Cover Goes Viral (The One)

Filed under: Videos, Music, The One

lady gaga and 10-year-old fan maria aragonMaria Aragon is a really talented 10-year-old from Winnipeg, Canada, but when her mom posted a video of her covering Lady Gaga’s ‘Born This Way’ to YouTube, they probably expected it to get a couple thousand views like the rest of her videos have.

Instead, Lady Gaga saw the video, tweeted about it, and it went super viral. As of right now, the video has over 17 million views.

Tons of cool things have happened with all of the attention — last week, Aragon even got to appear on Ellen and perform her cover. But the coolest thing of all happened last night at Gaga’s Toronto show for her Monster Ball tour when she invited Aragon onstage and they performed the hit single together.

The original YouTube video is adorable, but there’s something special about watching Lady Gaga tear up as she sings with a tiny fan sitting on her lap. Maria’s Now-Famous YouTube Cover

PAZ Crashes Paris Hilton’s Birthday Party and Steals a $2,000 Cake

paris hilton's big red birthday cake, stolen by pazA Hollywood hipster DJ who goes by the name of PAZ just became internet famous by crashing Paris Hilton’s 30th birthday party and leaving with 70 pounds of cake. He blogged about it later, including pictures of the sweet, sweet prize (for which Paris apparently paid $ 2,000.) Whether this was a drunken escapade or a cynical publicity stunt, this PAZ gentleman sure knows a thing or two about self-promotion.

As a result of this case of the purloined cake, more people are checking out PAZ’s Facebook (33,000 fans and climbing!), reading his blog (which is largely about encounters with celebrities) and listening to his mixtape, “Young, Broke and Fameless,” which samples Lady Gaga and Jay-Z.

It sounds like PAZ won’t be “fameless” for much longer, as long as he keeps following his instincts for drunken shenanigans.

Inspired by ‘Movin’ Like Berney’ – Dances Based on Other Movies Made in 1989

Filed under: Humor, Videos, Dancing, Movies

Dancers movin like BerneyIn 1989, Jonathan Silverman and Andrew McCarthy starred in Weekend at Bernie’s. The pair cart around their dead boss. They pretend he is still alive to evade murderers and impress hot babes.

The antics of the dead titular character have come to life as a dance craze.

The original “Movin Like Berney [sic]” video has garnered more than 1.8 million views since November. It’s inspired hundreds of people to hit the dancefloor and move around like they’re dead.

To move like Berney, just “hold your head back” and proceed to “get loose.”

As a forward-thinking business genius, I’ve decided to cash in on this craze by creating a series of dances based on other movies made in 1989.

1. “Takin’ Manhattan”

This routine is based on the scene in Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan, where the (also) dead titular character emerges from the East River.

He stands menacingly then slowly looks up. He curiously turns his head to the left, then to the right, then saunters off (ostensibly murder more people.)

When Jason sees this billboard of a goalie wearing a hockey mask, the ghoul realizes there is something beyond himself.

That transcendent moment happens every time you dance the “Takin’ Manhattan.”

2. “Great Balls!”

I choreographed this based on the two most memorable moments from the Jerry Lee Lewis biopic Great Balls of Fire!

As you may be aware, Jerry Lee Lewis played the piano and married his first cousin.

To move to “Great Balls!” first act like you’re playing the piano. Then pretend like you’re smooching an underage relative.

3. “Christmas Vay-Kay Shuffle”

This dance is based on the VHS box from National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.

It’s pretty simple. Just move around like Randy Quaid is your obnoxious cousin and you’ve been electrocuted by 25,000 christmas lights.

4. “Indy Whip”

These steps are based on Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.

Like a member of the Hyphy Movement, Indiana Jones is good with his “whip.” This dance will become popular in every hipster enclave in the country, because it’s so Indy.

5. “Savage Sassy Monster”

This dance isn’t so much based on Fred Savage’s Little Monsters, as it is based on a rap used to promote a 1-900 number for Little Monsters.

Fred Savage cockily shoots his finger to the camera. This sort of sassy maneuver will definitely make you the flyest person in da club.

Just put a dumb look on your face, then point your fingers as you move backwards.

6. “Wyld Stallyn”

Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure launched the career of meme superstar Keanu Reeves. He was easily the most influential air guitarist of the late eighties.

Let’s honor the man, and his band “Wyld Stallyns” as we fake-shred on a non-existent guitar.

Will these dances based on other movies made in 1989 truly catch on? Will I become the next Alvin Ailey or Merce Cunningham? Will I choreograph the next Lady Gaga music video?

I’m not entirely sure, but probably.

  • Cool “lady Gaga Sucks” images

Some cool lady gaga sucks images:

  • Lady Gaga + Giorgio Armani

It’s now confirmed that Armani and Lady Gaga is teaming up and Armani will design all her crazy creations she will be wearing for her hext world tour. Only problem that I see is: well, Armani are very Armani and do I even need to go into more details to why he and his fashion house are so NOT Lady Gaga. At least Armani’s niece Alberta explains that “It wouldn’t be possible to give Gaga a look from the collection because she wears pieces of art. It’s theatrical.” All we know so far is that each piece will be custom made, apart from that, it’s very hush hush around the whole project.

Seinfeld

LOS ANGELES — Jerry Seinfeld has changed his opinion of Lady Gaga, who was taken to his private box at the Mets’ Citi Field after showing photographers her middle finger at a game earlier this month. Previously, Seinfeld released a statement noting that his family took “an optimistic view of Lady Gaga’s gesture as a sign that she wants the Mets to be in first place as badly as they do,” but during an interview on New York’s WFAN Sports Radio with Steve Somers, he changed his tune. Story: Jerry Seinfeld joins country celebs in helping Nashville, Tenn. “You know, I changed my mind. I hate her,” Seinfeld said in his typical rant style after the sports jock pointed out that Gaga was taken to the comic’s seats after flicking off the photogs. “I can’t believe they put her in my box — that I paid for! You give people the finger and you get upgraded? Is that the world we’re living in now? I mean ...” Seinfeld said he didn’t learn that the bikini-wearing Gaga was taken to his seats until later that night when he came for the second game of the day. Video: Kylie Minogue on Lady Gaga: ‘I’m a great admirer’ “How would I know anything? I wasn’t even there ...
I came for the night game and heard all about it,” he said. “She’s a jerk. ... What is she giving the finger (for)? What’s the finger anyway? Speaking of interesting and new, how old is the finger, how did it even get to be the finger?
